Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. O'Dell later became a morning news anchor for WCBD TV and also as the crime reporter. The stories she reported in Charleston about the police's leniency regarding DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. This led to the state government imposing more stringent regulations in these cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell then worked for NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter and anchor, prior to her joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. O'Dell anchors the main newscast for Access Hollywood. In addition she has contributed to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. She co-hosted both The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
